by Manuela Fischer - Switzerland

Archival limited edition of only three, printed on Hahnemühle paper. Size 120x90 cm/approx. 47x35 in.

Fischer is a Swiss Mountaineer who creates sweeping Land Art projects in the Alpine area near the hut her family has managed for generations. These photographs by Christian Schröckel are from her 'No Boarder Zone' project with Geologist Dr Helmut Weinert.

Fischer's Land Art projects are multifaceted and require great group efforts. Helicopters delivering materials to the glacier must change course in inclement weather while the group waits on the ice.

Her 'No Border Zone' project maps a line where the African continent once touched Switzerland. This image is part of the Permanent Collection of the Art/NaturSci Movement, launched on the AVONTUUR cargo schooner in 2020. The pilot exhibition of the collection took place at the University of Maine in 2023 and is now set to travel in North America.
